Frequently Asked Questions
All teachers and support services staff need to have licensure/certification in their home state. For teachers, deaf education and content area certification are preferred. For support services providers, multiple state certifications provide more opportunities for assignments. For club/enrichment programs, we can use staff who have expertise and skills but not necessarily certification.
All of our positions are part-time. We serve students all over the world, so we will offer you assignments that fit your availability.
Yes, you can work from home provided you have a computer, high speed internet setup and a space with a simple background and limited environmental distractions.
At this time the Online Academy offers core academic courses including Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies to deaf and hard of hearing students. We offer ASL as a World Language to deaf and hearing students as well.
The Online Academy Core Classes are all synchronous and have a maximum class size of 8. ASL as a World Language classes may be a combination of synchronous and hybrid. The size of those classes are determined at the time of establishing them with our partner programs.
