Our teachers are certified in deaf education in their respective states and are documented content area experts with additional certifications, degrees, licensures, and add-ons.
Our courses utilize a bilingual instructional approach using American Sign Language and English (in printed form), to develop increased literacy skills. All instructors have native or high level competence in ASL and have training in bilingual instructional strategies.
Our courses are all live, with specific times when students are expected to appear. Classes utilize Zoom as the video platform and our own learning management system houses our curriculum. An orientation session is scheduled prior to the beginning of class to help students learn about the system. Our help desk is also open and available to assist students when they are not in class.
Classes for deaf and hard of hearing students will never exceed 8. In fact, most of our classes are smaller than that! The small class size allows students and teachers to create close connections, while also allowing students to develop friendships with peers from all over the world!
